As a Sustainability Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting organizations in implementing sustainable practices and strategies. Your main objective will be to help companies reduce their environmental impact and promote social responsibility. You will work closely with various departments within the organization to develop and implement sustainable initiatives, monitor progress, and report on the effectiveness of sustainability programs. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies aligned with ScrapEco’s objectives.
- Conduct thorough environmental assessments and audits.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and EPR regulations.
- Monitor and analyze environmental data related to energy, waste, and carbon emissions.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to optimize sustainable practices.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.
- Conduct training and awareness programs on sustainability and EPR obligations.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on sustainability initiatives and outcomes.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including manufacturers, recyclers, and regulators.
- Advocate for and promote sustainability within the organization.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven work experience in sustainability, environmental management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
- Understanding of lifecycle assessment (LCA) methodologies and carbon footprint calculations.
- Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, energy management systems, and waste management practices.
- Experience in project management and implementation of sustainability initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional certifications such as LEED Green Associate or Certified Sustainability Professional (CSP) are desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess environmental impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using sustainability metrics and tools.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders at various organizational levels.
